  1. Hi all, I’ve just gotten my Skip1s and USB bundle. Really excited and trying to get things set up, but I’m running into a problem I can’t seem to solve. Issue: Can’t control Plex via Skip1s as programmed in Skip app Set up: Skip1s programmed “PC” for “Flirc” and “Plex” in Skip app v0.9.956 beta. Synced to “A” Activity button FLIRC USB and software v3.27.10 Windows 11 Pro Plex HTPC v10.0.22631 Observations: Controls as programmed via the settings synced from Skip app to “A” activity don’t trigger the expected behaviour in Plex. I am able to program some aspects of Plex controls with Skip1s via FLIRC USB software, but not all (so obviously not desirable long term). When no settings are programmed in FLIRC USB software and the device log is set to “Enable IR Debugging”, IR signals from Skip1s are detected. Activity “B” settings for TV and Soundbar work as programmed in Skip app. FLIRC USB doesn’t show in Windows Device Manager, including, hidden devices. Attempted remedies: Full system restart Powered Skip1s off/on via removal of batteries for >10 minutes Moved FLIRC USB to multiple alternative usb ports, including a usb hub, front panel and mobo backplate I/O. Program desired settings to activities “B” and “C” via Skip app Reset Skip1s settings in Skip app, used Skip app on alternative windows machine to set up Skip1s as a new device. Used FLIRC USB and software on alternative machine. Outcome: Issue persists, namely, input via Skip1s remote results in no action in Plex. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I love this product already, I just want to make this work and it’ll be perfect.
  2. Hi, I checked the forums, but didn't really find a topic with my problem, so I try to ask: I have a first generation flirc and I use that without any problems for years. But I decided to get a new one, mostly becouse I have a frequent error in my mediapc/kodi that maybe becouse the old flirc reciever i got already used years back, but mostly becouse the new one is more up-to-date and let's face it, smaller, nicer and fits more to the mediapc than the old. I got the new one, but after setting up (install software, program the keys to my remote) it didn't work at all. The windows and the Flirc cliens sees the device, when I set up a key, it says it was programmed. But when I want to actually use the remote (even just to see the keystrokes it supposed to do) nothing. I cleared the settings, to start from scrach, set up all the keys. Now some works some not. Even the keys that does work, are unreliable. Sometimes I press the button and ok, next time its nothing for a minute (arrow keys for example, up - up - nothing for long seconds - up). The flirc client for programming the remote keys, sometime says that a key is already stored do I want to redo? But most of the time nothing, just store it like it was empthy. Plugging back the old flirc, works great, repsonsive, quick. Did I miss something with the setup? Can I check somehow what keys it stored? (the remote is a logitech harmony 350 and I did see that the harmony remotes have problems, but this is the most basic version, technically just an universal remote, and as I wrote, my old, first gen flirc works with it perfectly.) If anyone have any idea, I'd appreciate it, thanks.
  3. Is it possible to map a button of a remote control to some unique custom event that EventGhost could handle? I mean an event that will not coincide with other (standard) system events, e.g., it will not be treated as a keyboard key-press or a multimedia control event as it is now.
  4. I've got my Flirc (metal model) and I can't get it to work. I've plugged it and installed Flirc for Windows, but whenever I open the program, it instantly freezes (Not responding in window's title) and I have to manually kill it in the Task Manager. I've found out that other people had this issue, some resolved by reinstalling the drivers with an utility (ZADIG). I tried that too but so far nothing changed. If I go to Devices in Windows, I see flirc listed under "other devices", so that's something I guess. I'm out of ideas, any help? OS: Windows 10 EDIT: If try to "Troubleshoot" with Windows' software, it says that flirc is an old device and may not work with USB 3.0. I don't have any USB 2.0 on my desktop. That's the problem? EDIT2: I found out that even with FLIRC not plugged, the program on Windows freezes as soon as it opens.
  5. Pressing CTRL-F on my keyboard does a 30-second-skip, a really useful feature, in Windows Media Center. I tried to map a button on my remote to CTRL-F, but it doesn't seem to work in WMC. I'm not using one of the off-frequency remotes; I've programmed my Logitech Harmony to use one of the suggested brands, which I feel certain uses signals near the 38kHz range. The weird thing is, it seems to have mapped the CTRL-F button correctly -- I can open up Wordpad and press my "30s skip" button, and the "Find" dialog opens. However, when Windows Media Center is playing content, the button is totally ignored. Other buttons like "Fast Foward" (mapped to CTRL-SHIFT-F) work fine. I have the same problem with CTRL-B (skip back), and CTRL-D (show info menu). They seem to be ignored by Windows Media Center when the keys are pressed by the Flirc dongle, but work fine when I press those key combos on my diNovo mini. Can anyone help?
  6. Hello! I was unable to program a working power on button with my Flirc-SE. Using latest Windows 10 and Flirc GUI the software gave me the thumbs up and the button was bound because i was unable to assign it a second time, but pressing the button did not start the pc. After i changed the OS to LibreElec (latest stable Kodi 16.1) i installed the XBMC Flirc addon 1.0.3 and again, thumbs up after i programmed a second power on button but the PC did not boot using it. I did resolve this problem by using the flirc_cli still running LibreElec, did program a 3rd power on button with it and (only) this power on button does work. Also funny: running LibreElec and Kodi 16.1 i did press the first under Windows 10 + GUI programmed power (on) button and the up, down, left, right and select buttons got deleted instantly. Hope that help. If any more details about the software (versions - used latest December downloads) or hardware is required to resolve this, please let me know.
  7. Hey guys! Are there known bugs to the Flirc-SE (Streacom Edition)? Windows 10: Unable to shutdown or boot the PC (Kodi 16.1) Linux (LibreELEC LibreELEC-Generic.x86_64-7.0.2.img): Unable to shut down or boot the PC + Flirc-SE is now totally locked after i pressed the power-off button unresponsive because the up, down, left, right and select (enter) button got deleted, does not take any more commands by the remote even after power off, reboot ... There is USB power on the Flirc-SE, cables are correct connected, updated latest firmware in Windows 10. Is this a known behavior or is my hardware damaged somehow or am i doing something wrong here? I did test the same hardware in a MS-Tech MC-80BL computer case, it comes with a remote and included receiver, did work out of the box, even in Linux, downside was: very small case, the boxed intel cpu cooler did not fit and got no internal slot for a sat-tv card. So i guess there is no issue with the motherboard or bios settings. Thanks!

  9. Hello I got a Flirc recently and I setup my Inteset INT- 422 remote control using Full Keyboard controller under Flirc GUI v1.4.0 with firmware v3.7 on Windows 8.1 x64 to use with Kodi 15.2 I've been trying to use long press in different ways but non of them were successful or sometimes it would send both key actions at the same time. So I'm here to ask if the following case scenarios are possible at all, and if so how? what third party software will I need? 1. Use the DISPLAY button in my remote to: Single press: open global search in Kodi (using "RunScript(script.globalsearch)" in keyboard.xml) Long press: open windows search panel (Win+q) I would like the remote to interact with widows to open the start screen, search panel, etc apart of Kodi. 2. Use the SQUARE button at the bottom of my remote to: Single press: run Update Library (using "UpdateLibrary(video,,true)" in keyboard.xml) Long press: run Clean Library (using "CleanLibrary(video, true)" in keyboard. xml) Right now I have set Clean Library and Update Library to different specific buttons and they work as expected BUT I would like to extend the usability of my remote by re-using the buttons so I can have 2 key actions in each button of my remote. If you have similar case scenarios working in you setup PLEASE share how to do it. I've already tried different ways but maybe I'm missing something or a third party software. This is my remote: T.I.A (Thanks In Advance)

  11. I have Flirc set up with my Logitech Harmony 600 and use a "Full Keyboard" profile. If I try the buttons and keys in Notepad everything is OK. I have tried with Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. But as soon as I try to Pause or move around in Kodi/XBMC, the buttons don't work like they should. For example, I have to press really hard and sometimes it doesn't even react to anything. I don't know if the problem is Flirc or Kodi... I have tried with latest Kodi Isengard 15.1 and also with Helix 14.2... What could be causing this? Please help...
  12. Hey, I'm successful in installing the driver and the gui. I also upgraded the firmware successfully from 3.1 to 3.5, but I'm unable to record any remote. I tried it also on my windows 7 laptop and same results. In my last attempt on my macbook it seemed to somewhat work, but doesn't help me of course. Any suggestions? Thanks, Rafael
