  1. I'm using Openelec on a Raspberry Pi B+ and recently bought a Logitech Harmony to control it. I'm trusting the embedded profile, and it seems to work very well. After a while though the volume down key or command (and ONLY this one, so far) stops working. Unplugging and replugging the FLIRC doesn't help, only a complete reboot of the RPi will let it work again. It's not a tremendous hassle but it's somehow distressing. Anyone got any clue on this? Is it a firmware bug?
  2. I just got my fire tv and flirc setup complete about a week a go and I love it. The flirc works great with my harmony remote and it saves me from having to have a separate remote for the fire tv. I am having one issue though with the watch disney app. ON the app, there is a link where you can select 'More Shows', then stream other shows. However I am unable to actually select that link. When I naviagte to the link and click select nothing happens. If I use the original fire tv remote it selects it just fine. This seems to be the only place where I get an odd behavior with the select button. Using the harmony remote the select buttons works everywhere else(other apps, xbmc, etc) no problem. Is this a problem with the flirc or the app? My harmony is setup using the Panasonic TC-P65VT30 then flirc remaps the keys I need. Any thoughts? Thanks
  3. Here is how i got my Harmony Smart Control and Flirc to suspend and wake up my HTPC Linux Mint box. Note: make sure you are connecting your Flirc to a consistently powered USB even if the PC is powered off, to choose one; power off your pc and connect your mobile on the desired USB port and make sure your mobile is charging with the box turned off. 1- Download Flirc latest Linux GUI from here (i used the zipped x64 version). 2- Add the file 51-flirc.rules to /etc/udev/rules.d/ (download the file from here), this udev rule insures that the GUI can connect to Flirc without root permissions. 3- Unplug then Plug your Flirc or restart your box for changes to take effect. 4- extract the GUI tools and run the file named Flirc(might need permissions update), you should now see the GUI and the title bar should says connected. 5- Upgrade your Flirc settings and flash it to the latest FW version using the GUI tools, from File -> Advanced, do the following: enable sleep detection. enable noise canceler. enable built-in profiles click on force FW upgrade. 6- by now, you should have no problems running XBMC with flirc and Harmony or any other remote. 7- locate two free buttons on your remote that will be used to wake and suspend your box. 8- follow the steps from 2 to 6 mentioned in this great post (Flirc will apear as 'Clay Logic'). 9- Unplug then Plug your Flirc or restart your box for changes to take effect. 10- Re-lunch you GUI tool and switch to the Full keyboard view. 11- Record the wake on the remote on the Flirc virtual keyboard. 12- Record the suspend button on a combination of your choice (that does not conflict with XBMC's default map!), i used Ctrl+Del. 13- create the file ~/.xbmc/userdata/keymaps/suspend.xml with the following content (change the mapping to your preference in step 12) <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <keymap> <global> <keyboard> <delete mod="ctrl">XBMC.Suspend()</delete> </keyboard> </global> </keymap> 14-restart XBMC. 15- if everything went fine, you should now be able to suspend/wake your XBMC box. 16- you can expand the functionality to Gnome by adding the same shortcut to as a keyboard shortcuts to call 'sudo pm-suspend' (need to switch to sudo with no password) 17- using Harmony software i added my wake and sleep buttons to be executed when powering on/off activities or switching between them. Hope this helps, let me know if you need more details! Happy Flircing!
  4. Help Please! The following is the setup I have... and nothing seems to work properly. FLIRC on OUYA running XBMC Setup Harmony Remote as "Manufacturer: Flirc" "Model: XBMC" Recorded buttons to FLIRC on Mac v1.26 app from Harmony Remote I have tried changing the following settings to try and stop either missed button presses, or jumpy presses (multiple hits for a single button press). I seem to either be missing presses, or moving 3 at a time, depending on settings. Harmony : Device Inter-Key delay : 0 - 500ms Inter-Device delay: 500ms (I left this one alone) Command Repeats: 0-3 (I've tried them all) FLIRC: Advanced - Inter-Key Delay: 0 - 6 (tried them all) Noise Canceller: On/Off (I tried this on, seemed to remove the extra keys but caused a huge lag / missed presses. I tried some other settings moved around with this on, but could not get rid of the horrible lag) I'm stuck... Thanks in advance.
  5. Hi How to best put the pieces together? I understad that its best to choose the "Flirc XBMC" device in the myHarmony (It may eventually come a "flirc PLEX" device but until then I suppose that XBMC is the way to go). I have a problem with the "back" button, it lets me go backwards in the meny but I cant get back to the menu when I started a film... Is there i a guide or some tips and trix anyone can offer me? I use PLEX for the desktop but I love to move to the win8 app becouse its a better UI, however it seams that the app its not with out its fair share of problems so I stick to the desktop for now... Thanks
  6. Hi guys. I've received my Flirc a few days ago and I'm not able to run a lot of functions or keys with my Harmony 300 (Vol+ vol- mute smallstepack). :o Of course I've read before an tested this guide without luck. The XBMC Flirc profile in MyHarmony don't work fine with the Harmony 300. If I load this profile the Volume+ Volume- and smallstepback don't work. I've also tried to program the harmony like a Samsung LN46C650L1F and assigned a function to all the keys as mentioned in the post. BUT when I try to program or reassign this functions in the FlircGui 1.2.5 (w7x64 + firmware 2.5) they don't work. For example, I press the Vol+ in the gui, it asks for the command, then I press the button in the remote and Flirc says 'recorded successfully' BUT if I test the new key it doesn't work neither Flirc Gui nor Openelec 3.95.2. I can't make it work from any panel... minimalist, Full Keyboard, XBMC. I haven't this issues with the direction arrows, exit, play, enter, stop, forward, backward, up, down, left, right, INFO and numbers 0 to 9. It is curious that when I record the key mute (with any button in my Harmony) it makes it on the key info  What can I do? A lot of thanks. :)
  7. I have a Harmony (650) and I'm setting up Flirc with XBMC. But I can't seem to find any definitive answer on the best method to use. There is a pinned post that describes using a Panasonic or Samsung TV profile to control XBMC (http://forum.flirc.tv/index.php?/topic/22-harmony-remotes/), but that's dated from way back in 2011. Is it still the ideal way to go? Then there's the recent blog post about Flirc having it's own harmony profile now (http://blog.flirc.tv/flirc-has-a-harmony-profile/), and this is dated much more recenlty -- April 1st. However, following the link to the updated firmware that is supposedly needed shows a forum thread marked "(RETIRED)", which would lead me to believe this is no longer needed or supported (I'm not sure which). And when I use this method, nothing seems to work anyway. So, I suppose the ultimate question is: At this point, which method is preferred for using Flirc with a Harmony Remote and XBMC? I'm new here so I hope I'm not rehashing an old question. I might be missing something obvious, so apologies if I am, but I did look. Has there been discussion of creating a Wiki or something similar to consolidate information like this? Also, is there a page that lists the latest firmware versions (stable, beta, etc) so that I can determine if I'm up-to-date?
  8. GUI Version: 1.06 Firmware Version: 2.0 The AudioNextLanguage mapping in the Harmony XBMC Profile is not working. What it is doing is jumping to the TV Titles Listing.
  9. Hi everyone, just got my flirc yesterday, and i am having some troubles with it. Hardware: Custom built i3 Asrock h77m-itx 4gb ram BIOS 1.90 Harmony 900 remote Dinovo Mini Blue tooth Keyboard FLIRC XBMC Gotham 13.1 It took me awhile to get it working but flirc is working fine, i have programed the activity to use flirc on the harmony 900 it will power on my tv and zvox but not my htpc, i have to use my dinovo mini to power it on. For the life of me i can not figure out why the flirc does not power on my htpc, i have checked all the bios settings updated to the latest asrock bios 1.90, i even used my wireless logitech keyboard and it powers the machine one with no issues. If someone could help me that would be so good. Could it be that i am putting it to a shutdown state rather than sleep mode state ? that is why it is not wkring if so then why would my other devices be able to power it on. thanks w
  10. I'm using v2.2 of the GUI and I'm trying to get my new Logitech Harmony to work with Flirc + XBMC. I was happy to see that there is a profile for this in the Logitech Harmony database, but when I tried the remote with XBMC launched it didn't seem to work. Is this a known issue or am I doing something wrong?
  11. Hello, I have Flirc running firmware 2.4, Harmony Ultimate remote, and RaspBMC. When I first installed Flirc it worked great for a couple of weeks or so. Then I started getting the repeating keys issue and every button press would result in to two. I searched the forums and found a lot of things to try such as modifying the remote to use Repeat = 0, changing the delays, etc. But after I tried changing it now nothing works. My remote keys still work in the Flirc configuration program (for example when I press up on the remote the up button the lights up in the configuration progrm). But now my raspbmc doesn't seem to recognize any remote key presses at all. Is there something I can do on the raspbmc command line to remove the flirc and start again?
  12. Hi there. I bought a Flirc so I could use my Harmony remote with the Fire TV. Is there a config file I could use somewhere? Any recommendations?
  13. Hi Everyone, i can't seem to get Sleep/Wake feature to run on my HTPC using Flirc and Harmony Smart Control, i have XBMC installed on Linux Mint 16. here is the steps i followed: 1- i have updated Flirc's firmware to 2.3 which is the latest version. 2- added the Flirc XBMC profile on the Harmony Smart Control. 3- started my HTPC and XBMC would boot automatically. 4- nice surprise!!! everything is working like a dream, now press the "off" button on the harmony...nothing happened (except other devices went off) the HTPC is still up. 5- used the harmony remote to let XBMC go to sleep (using menus), the HTPC slept with no problems. 6- pressed the power button on the Flirc Harmony profile (using the mobile app) the HTPC won't wake from sleep. 7- using a physical keyboard, i could get the HTPC to wake up with any key press. now, am i missing something? thanks
  14. I'm using a harmony ultimate remote and have setup the 'flirc xbmc' profile in the harmony.com settings. However I previously used flirc for a different remote and the instructutions in this thread mention that it should be all ready to go however - it's just has the profile for the last remote. how to I get it to work without setting up the remote manually in the flirc GUI? - do I just clear the current configuration and it will be ready to go?
  15. I'm trying to use my rf harmony hub to control my raspberry pi which has the flirc plugged in. How do I do this
  16. Hi Everyone, Here is my gear! thanks ;) Moutaz
  17. So my flirc arrived in the mail today and I'm having an issue with it. Repeated key response is unacceptably slow and if I push a button on my remote thrice in quick succession it skips 9-12 menu entries. I've gone through a few dozen hopelessly outdated forum threads hoping to find a solution with no luck. I've fiddled with the repeat settings and interkey delays with no appreciable difference. If I abandon the flirc entirely and use the generic IR receiver I have everything works fine perfectly, unfortunately the number of keys I'm able to set with it are very limited due to the receiver not being RC6 compliant. I'm using firmware 2.3 and have the "flirc xbmc" device added in the harmony software. Any help would be much appreciated.
  18. I just received my Flirc today. My setup is a Harmony One, Raspberry Pi with XBMC (openelec), Onkyo TX-SR608 and a Panasonic TX-P50ST50E. In the harmony software a added the Flirc (xbmc) as a new device and made a new activity. The flirc is setup on the Minimalist profile, but i would love to get a bit more control with my Harmony One. The downloaded flirc software is v1.0.6. There is no Harmony profile in this release. Is there a version which contains a Harmony profile and where can i download it?
  19. Just sharing my experience since it cost me 2 hours to figure out a proper configuration: I use an Harmony 650 and a FLIRC receiver to control my computer. When I switch to the activity "watch a movie", I want my Harmony/FLIRC to do: - WIN+P - RIGHT - ENTER in order to activate dual screen on the TV. For that, I added a personnalized sequence to the activity. The sequence played manually was working fine (thus no pbl of button configuration), but nothing happened when the Harmony was playing it automatically. I suspected a problem of duration of the IR signal. => I changed the "repeat delay" (the cursor value between 0 and 3) of my Flirc-XMBC device in MyHarmony.com It was 0 by default, I set 2. Now it's working fine :) I suppose it's related somewhere, but I flashed my FLIRC with an "inter-key delay" = 6. No idea what is the exact meaning of it though :( Your thoughts are welcomed if you have a leaner solution ! :P

  21. Hi; Thanks for the great help around here. I have tried to setup Flirc and my Harmony One without success. I have read many installation procedures and I am confused. I have programmed FLIRC with keyboard layout but keys needed to be pressed twice to work, and even though the delay to execution was huge (so I canned that one). Next, I programmed MCE Keyboard and MCPC in the remote and linked them with an action to launch XBMC automatically using WIN-7 command and then use the keyboard layout i programmed. That did not work either... WISH LIST: Have XBMC as a command in remote When pressed a) I need TV on and HDMI 3 selected B) XBMC launched on the PC then control from there with a keyboard layout. ASSUMPTION: A second TV profile would not work since I need my TV to switch to HDMI 3 and so on... is this correct? I realize that this list might be a bit pretentious but I would like the convenience this offers. QUESTIONS Is this possible to do If yes, what is the best way to program it Thanks in advance
  22. Logitech 670 with Flirc Flirc Version 1.0.2 [0000000000000000] Firmware Version: 1 10-02-2011 In harmony software, added flirc as Panasonic TC-P65VT30 guys i can't get the sensitivity to work. As referred to in this thread, I went into the CLI folder and did a flirc.exe sensitivity 0 and then played with 1,2,3 values as well. Then I re-opened flirc and re-learnt the right direction key However, a single press like a direction key is taken multiple times inside xbmc. I even played with inter-key delay 0-200 and it makes no difference. Is there a later software than Oct 2011 and how do I fix this problem? Thanks
  23. Hi all I've been hugely frustrated by the "slow" feel of the Harmony 700 I bought to use with my HTPC + flirc. I've tried using various different device profiles on the Harmony software (Panasonic TV as per another thread, Sky+ HD controller, Windows Media Centre profile), but I always seem to get annoying amounts of lag. It's not huge, but enough that it doesn't feel as natural as a normal remote. I've tried setting the delays on the Harmony to zero, and I've changed sensitivity to zero on my flirc, with no real improvement. Just as a test, I reset my flirc and recorded a few new commands from my plain old Sony Bravia remote. The difference was amazing - it felt very snappy to use. This confirms my belief that the flirc isn't causing the lag. Do all-in-one remotes just have more lag associated with them due to the added complexity? Am I setting my expectations too high? At this point I'm thinking of just setting the Harmony and finding an old "simple" DVD remote or such that works better. Thanks
  24. I'm curious to know if anybody running XBMCbuntu (or any other Linux setup) has successfully programmed a Logitech Harmony remote for full functionality. I installed the Flirc GUI within XBMCbuntu, which seemed to record the basic functionality. I had to use the terminal command line to record advanced keystrokes. Within XBMC, however, I get almost no real functionality. Only the directional buttons "work," and that is occasional and usually scrolls in whatever direction it chooses, regardless of the actual input. I think the problem may be in the device or activity setup within the Logitech Harmony software. Obviously, neither XBMC nor Flirc have profiles within the software, but some users running Linux XBMC builds have reported success in the past. Unfortunately, I've never been able to replicate. The device profiles I've tried include DVD Player, MCE Keyboard and a Panasonic/Samsung TV as suggested by a user in another thread. No joy, but it could be that I'm setting up the activity improperly or customizing the buttons differently... haven't found any advice on those fronts. Any suggestions on what device profile should be used, how the activity should be setup, or how the buttons should be customized? Really looking for help here, I'm on my last nerve finding a working solution. Thanks in advance.
  25. FIrst off I would like to say that this seems to be a great solution to a problem that I've been facing for quite some time. So kudos! However, I have a Harmony 1100 and I was wondering if anyone has had any success configuring it with Flirc and xbmc.
