  1. I know this is a spam bot, but just for the fun of it: No It's not particularly severe usually. Gastric irritation is far more severe and common as it can lead to bleeding of the stomach lining and ulceration I obviously deleted the link in question. However if you are getting persistent GORD (gastric oesophageal reflux disease) then you should consult a pharmacist/doctor. I think I bossed that :)
  2. I don't think so. The easiest way to think of flirc is as a USB keyboard. If you can achieve what you want to achieve with a USB keyboard then you will be able to do so with Flirc, if not then flirc won't work. I think what you want is a universal remote control (e.g. harmony remote) which allow you to control more than one device
  3. What profile is the harmony using?

    WMC + XBMC

    TV REMOTE

Hi, that's a lot of capital letters. Yep, both your TV and Flirc will react to the button. If you're using your TV's remote we recommend either pairing buttons that aren't in use by the tv (e.g. buttons only used in a certain menu) or using another remote.
  6. Hi :) It took some digging but I found confirmation of my suspicion: http://support.upc.ie/app/answers/detail/a_id/593 The remote is IR (infrared) and RF (radio frequency). Flirc is an IR receiver. So any buttons that don't emit IR won't work unfortunately.
  7. Correct. You have to map a command to the virtual button using myharmony then sync it. Otherwise the button won't send anything when pressed. I haven't checked in on the status of the Flirc harmony profile but last time I checked it didn't allow custom (almost 'placeholder') buttons that the user could map a function to (as existing functions are premapped in flirc firmware)
  8. Likely due to the remote alternating between two different remote strings. I forget but it's something to do with detecting people walking in front of the line of sight. Anyway, the solution is simple; record the other key too. e.g. using the gui record enter (it will say key recorded), press to record enter again and press the same key on your remote to record again (hopefully catching the 2nd press code). Does this make sense?
  9. Anyone here tried RC 6? That's our current RC http://forum.flirc.tv/index.php?/forum/72-v100-rc6/
  10. They have a flat fee of $2 for a single Flirc: http://www.pi-suppli.com/pages/shipping It doesn't work out that much dearer buying the device from this retailer and you probably save a lot of time in shipping
  11. Awesome work reposter432!
  12. Yay! Thanks for posting back - happy flirc-ing :)
  13. @earth eater Hi :) Does this help?
  14. Harmony 300 isn't that expensive. I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for...
  15. Haven't heard of Plasma interfering, only active 3D glasses interfering as they are emitting IR
  16. This is the first time i've heard of this kind of thing happening. Sounds very strange. You can try posting the configuration (file --> save configuration) and post it here. Unfortunately they're not easily readable so we'd need Jason to have a look at them and understand what's going on.
  17. Sorry, i've been away for a few weeks so haven't been able to respond. I did mention the issues to Jason, not sure what happened as sometimes users submit an issue through the support form and it gets resolved via email and the thread looks empty. (i.e. stuff has been going on behind the scenes. Just to clarify guys; You've both tried reuploading the firmware and clearing the configuration (you can do this in the gui, just make sure you have the correct GUI version for the firmware you're using)
  18. Hi Guys, Is this beta/RC firmware? If yes, try reporting it in the subforum you got it from If no: Try the latest firmware pleasant regards :)
  19. Yep, the profile is a work in progress - Flirc is really a one man project so progress doesn't seem as quick as other projects but Jason does work just as hard as other people. If you don't choose the flirc profile then you will have to program the flirc:
  20. Hi skateoroma, where would you like it moved to? I'm not great at code and unfortunately don't have time to look into this as much as I would like to but thought I would post a response out of courtesy and in case it helps: A while back a user was running a stripped down version of windows and had issues with Flirc, turned out they have disabled the device manager of some kind - hence didn't work. Maybe this install does something similar. Though perhaps the easiest way of sorting this is to use another computer to program flirc, as once programmed you don't need the software installed on the computer you're using it on. Sorry again that I couldn't help in a more direct way, Pleasant regards :)
  21. Shipping in the US from Flirc shouldn't take too long. Worldwide orders used to ship from US and take several weeks. This is why we are using distributors now instead of sending them all from the U.S. http://www.flirc.tv/distributors
