  1. Managed to get get it working. Used the debian script which tried to install Flirc but failed , it tried to use your old repo. Deleted this from my software list ( I tried this at the start before downloading software ) Ran the debian script and it installed the new repo and installed Flirc. Might be useful for others that name the new repo http://apt.fury.io/flirc/ / This would save them having to try and download the packages and then try to work out what to do with them. Or better still just ignore the download section and use the debian script as long as they have the correct repo installed. Had the same problem as with a previous post where I had to disable play/pause
  2. Tried this in Show but no replies. Just done a fresh install of Ubuntu 18.04 ( corrupt SSD drive). Tried to install flirc from the download section. Extracted files Flirc and Flirc_util. Not sure what to do with them. The info at the end of the download section for Linux indicates some dependencies and putting the above files in usr/local/bin maybe. Needed Dependencies: libhidapi-hidraw0 libqt5core5a libqt5network5 libqt5xml5 libqt5xmlpatterns5 libhid qt5-qtbase qt5-qtsvg hidapi cp the 99-flirc.rules rules to /etc/udev/rules.d/ optionally copy flirc_util and flirc to /usr/local/bin/ Not sure what this means, can you explain in more detail please

  4. Solved: had to be something very obvious that I was missing. Keyboard>shortcuts>Sound and Media>Play(or play/pause) needed to be disabled. It wasn't. Thanks for your help, hope this helps someone else. It helped when I changed to the Gnome shell which is easier than Unity
  5. Hooked up an IR keyboard but could not find any keys that worked with play/pause. The media keys worked for some such as stop but play/pause did not work.
  6. Installed Kore on my Samsung tablet. Now able to control Play/pause but not the best solution as Flirc would now seem pointless.
  7. Been away for a month. Still no luck with play/pause in kodi. Tried setting up Kodi as a device in My Harmony but no difference. Tried using Media Keyboard but no difference. Gave up on my Windows machine. Don't know what else to try.
  8. My laptop running windows 10 seems to be having a problem with Kodi. When flirc is connected it crashes, disconnected everything is fine. Still no luck with trying to get play/pause to work on Ubuntu.
  9. Had a play with the keyboard settings but no difference. Deleted the NUC and Flirc from Harmony. The speed issue has gone and all controls apart from Play and Pause now work. As these are important I will keep trying to fix the issue. When I get a chance I will set it up on my PC with Kodi and see if there is a problem.
  10. Have just had to reinstall Ubuntu 16.04 on my NUC and now my Flirc has problems with controlling Kodi. The major one is I now have no control using Play and Pause. The other seems to be in regards to speed of the actions. They are way to fast and skip over say going from Videos to Movies they go to TV shows.Have redone the Play and Pause buttons on the Flirc software. Have tried adjusting the speed in the advanced tag but this seems to have little effect. Have reinstalled the Flirc software. Reinstalled and purged the Flirc software.Tried an upgrade of Kodi from 16 to 17 but no difference. Fiddled with the settings on my Harmony 650. I have the earlier version of Flirc, could there be a problem with the latest firmware? Geoff
  11. Problem Solved finally. See this link http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=208864&pid=2227964#pid2227964
  12. Christmas came and went. Had time to fiddle. Have found that Flirc works using the same remote in an Android box running Kodi 15.2, all programmed buttons including play and pause. So its not the dongle. So its either the Ubuntu OS or the NUC. Will lirc interfere with the remote? Have had a problem with the NUC running Airplay through Kodi. The iphone would not recognise Kodi, but run it through the Android box and it worked perfectly
  13. Running Kodi 15.2. Wayneg not sure what you mean ,my Harmony does not have a keyboard. Trying to see if I can get it to work in Windows 10 using a wireless keyboard. Tried two different keyboards, a standard wireless and a iPazzPort. Neither worked on my laptop
  14. Tried another remote Sony DVD player. Mapped the keys and same result Play and Pause do not work but all other buttons work. Without play and pause its next to useless. Help!!
  15. Installed Flirc on the NUC but still getting the same problem.
  16. No go, still the same result. The pause button works sometimes the play not at all. Have been using a Windows 10 laptop to program the buttons. I then transfer the dongle to a NUC running Ubuntu. Could this be a problem? Tried with another remote and same result. The computer?
  17. Having problems with two buttons Play/Pause not working. Couldn't get flirc to work out of the box so used the Kodi profile to map the buttons. However for some reason the Play and Pause buttons do not seem to work. The play not at all and the pause some of the time. As you can see I'm using an old Harmony but this still works for all my other activities with no problems. Have tried erasing and redoing the buttons but no luck.Even deleted the pause from the harmony profile in the hope that the Play button would work as both Play and Pause, but no luck. Regards Geoff
