  1. mcnovy, Sorry to hijack your thread, but did you every have the flirc working with an IR blaster? I bought eight flircs and am unable to use them because I can't get them to work with my setup that includes an IR repeater/blaster. I would gladly create a small "compartment" if I knew that would solve the problem.
  2. Thanks for the reply. I am not getting notified when someone replies to my posts. First: The IR repeater has been in my AV cabinet for years and has worked very well with many devices using many different protocols and frequencies. It even handles the Microsoft frequencies well. Second: No, I am using this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001BLTDZA/ It has been by far the most reliable one I have every used. I have tried at least five brands. This is the first device that it has not worked with it in 5 years.
  3. Oops, accidentally posted this question in the wrong subforum. How do you delete a post?
  4. I have used three different IR repeaters with no success. I programmed my remote and flirc without the IR repeater. Everything worked very well until I put the flirc in the media cabinet. Nothing work with the IR repeater in the loop. Someone suggested programming flirc with the IR repeater in the loop. I tried this, but was unable to program anything. I also turned on the noise cancellation option. I would get the "Button already exists" message. No IR repeater compatibility is a deal breaker for me. I just purchased eight flircs and at least four will require IR repeaters. Anyone had luck with another IR repeater/remote combo?

  6. Update: Last night, I decided to take my universal remote out of the loop. I dug out my old Xbox remote, but had the same problems. I even opened up a second flirc with the same result. I then decided to try my Roku remote. Everything seemed to work with the Roku remote and my universal remote mimicking the Roku remote. It appears that flirc has some incompatibilities with certain IR protocols. flirc could not tell the difference between some of the Xbox directional buttons. The Xbox uses the RCA protocol while the Roku uses the NEC1 protocol. I also had problem with the MCE protocol. Update 2: A little search of the forums confirms that both the Xbox and MCE remotes do not play nice with flirc. No worries, I can tell my JP1 remote to mimic a different remote entirely. I am off to search for a well supported remote/protocol. -Tom
  7. Hello Jason, I just got my first flirc, but I am getting the error in the OP. I am running Mac OS X 10.9.2, GUI v1.2.2, and Firmware v2.3. I am using the GUI in "Full Keyboard" mode, and am programming for MythTV. I have tried disabling 'built-in profiles' with no luck. I have tried "Force FW Upgrade", "Clear Configuration", and the "erase" button. Nothing helped. Order of events: Programmed my URC-8820N as a true MCE remote. Programmed flirc and everything seemed OK, but flirc would only respond to every other button press. Tried reprogramming the button press in case the remote button was alternating codes, with no success. Programmed my URC-8820N as a Xbox DVD remote. Tried programming flirc, but got "Button already exists" message. Tried everything listed above with no success. -Tom
