  1. Yea that ended up doing the trick. It was a bit irritating though, as my flirc disconnected from the pc after each key mapping. Running flirc gui 2.6 and whatever the latest firmware from that is.
  2. ? The flirc harmony profile. See the subject line? Edit: http://blog.flirc.tv/flirc-has-a-harmony-profile/ ^ that
  3. Is there any chance that this profile will ever get updated to allow us to bind remote buttons to any keyboard key? As far as I'm concerned the current profile is useless as it assumes I use the default key binds and nothing more.
  4. After a dozen or so attempts with libusbk it finally worked.
  5. libusb-win32 doesn't seem to detect the device.
  6. Followed those instructions, started with winusb 3.0.6.0 and now have libusbk 3.0.6.0. Still hangs while trying to update firmware.
  7. Nope that didn't have any effect. Do the developers read these forums?
  8. So I finally got things straightened out with logitech and thought I was finally in a position to actually use my flirc... seems I was wrong. I went to map my keys today but nothing was taking, so I tried a firmware update. When I hit "force fw upgrade" in the advanced page in the configuration tool it reports that my current firmware version is -16,-16 and that the latest is 2.3. I push "yes" to complete the upgrade, it appears to start and then it hangs. And hangs. And hangs. I've repeated the process no less than a dozen times and have even tried rebooting (windows 8 x64). The device is detected correctly in device manager so I don't imagine drivers are an issue. Any advice?
  9. If I unbind the keys in the manner you're suggesting when I try to map the key in flirc nothing at all will happen, as pressing the button on the remote will not produce any output. I use a harmony smart control, perhaps it's different from whichever harmony you have in mind.
  10. Yea that's not even remotely a solution for my issue. Thanks though.
  11. Looks like the issue is this damned harmony. For some reason it doesn't want to abide by the repeats=0 zero settings for either "flirc xbmc" or the panasonic tv device that has been suggested in other threads. It works fine if I use the IR codes for my receiver or tv (for testing on my windows pc) but that obviously isn't an option in my living room as it will result in loads of conflicts.
  12. Could the firmware upgrade be a factor? It hung for 15 or 20 minutes before I killed it and plugged the flirc back in. Afterwards it was detected as version 2.3 so I figured it was fine.
  13. How would I go about mapping a button twice? I push the remote button and the gui immediately detects it and says it's been mapped.
  14. Is the "flirc xbmc" profile rc6 compliant? I have no idea.
  15. So my flirc arrived in the mail today and I'm having an issue with it. Repeated key response is unacceptably slow and if I push a button on my remote thrice in quick succession it skips 9-12 menu entries. I've gone through a few dozen hopelessly outdated forum threads hoping to find a solution with no luck. I've fiddled with the repeat settings and interkey delays with no appreciable difference. If I abandon the flirc entirely and use the generic IR receiver I have everything works fine perfectly, unfortunately the number of keys I'm able to set with it are very limited due to the receiver not being RC6 compliant. I'm using firmware 2.3 and have the "flirc xbmc" device added in the harmony software. Any help would be much appreciated.
