  1. Hi,

I run Fedora 23. 1 year ago Flirc v1.3.6 was already not possible to install, I run it from command line.

Today v1.4.3 is released. I'd like to run it (install or CL, no matter) but this last version is not available in the package list in the site

I can download the Linux 32bit from downloads (BTW one have to download it and open the release_notes.md file to learn that) but not x86_64 and I can't get it working.

    ./Flirc
./Flirc: error while loading shared libraries: libXt.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I know, Jason it very busy, fully booked, but after hard development and tests on a new release the last steps are not done or not properly, this doesn't highlight all that valuable work.

So, question: Anyone could help me?

  2. I Jason,

I did a new test with the debian flirc_1.3.6-1_amd64.deb

Changed it to rpm with alien then tried to install

    I got the sames errors:

    Running transaction check
    Running transaction test
    Transaction check error:
file / from install of flirc-1.3.6-2.x86_64 conflicts with file from package filesystem-3.2-28.fc21.x86_64
file /usr/bin from install of flirc-1.3.6-2.x86_64 conflicts with file from package filesystem-3.2-28.fc21.x86_64

Let me know if you need more tests

  3. Now I need to know what to do.

Best should be to have an amd64 debian package.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

After reading how to build a package, I thing I can't do it in a easy way as I run Fedora and not a Debian distro.

So I need help, someone to provide a debian package.

    Many, many thanks.

  4. I'd be happy to try the latest release candidate but unfortunately I can't find it.

I am not very skilled in that subject but I can follow some directives.

This link should be updated to lead directly to the download page.

    https://flirc.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/201059883-I-want-the-latest-beta

So could you provide a link to this release?

Could you as well tell the diffrence between the 3 releases? (See my previous post)

    EDit:

I found it: Back door is open now

    Version: v1.3.2-rc.2

  5. Hi,

I run Fedora 21 amd64 and I followed step by step the post #4 dbran666 howto and tryed to install. Unfortunately I got the same error as Ptrax.

    Running transaction check
    Running transaction test

    Transaction check error:
file / from install of flirc-1.3.5-2.x86_64 conflicts with file from package filesystem-3.2-28.fc21.x86_64
file /usr/bin from install of flirc-1.3.5-2.x86_64 conflicts with file from package filesystem-3.2-28.fc21.x86_64

    Error Summary
    -------------

    How can I fix that?

There are 3 different packages in the link http://apt.flirc.tv/arch/x86_64/

    What are the differences?

    Thanks

  6. Hi,

I want to install Flirc in a Fedora 20 box following the howto at the download page.

I wget it and got a local rpm:

    flirc-1.2.6-2.x86_64.rpm

When I try to install it with rpm or yum I get the error message:

    Transaction check error:
file / from install of flirc-1.2.6-2.x86_64 conflicts with file from package filesystem-3.2-19.fc20.x86_64
file /lib from install of flirc-1.2.6-2.x86_64 conflicts with file from package filesystem-3.2-19.fc20.x86_64
file /usr/bin from install of flirc-1.2.6-2.x86_64 conflicts with file from package filesystem-3.2-19.fc20.x86_64

    Error Summary
    -------------

I want to test with the previous versions but they are not available.

    Any help is welcome

    Thanks

  7. You could try using flirc_util to look inside your Flirc.

I don't remember how to do with win (I use Linux) but try to run flirc_util as admin. (cmd to open the Terminal)

flirc_util # will give you the list of commands, then use for example:
flirc_util keys # will give you the recorded keys
flirc_util settings # will give you all the setting in your Flirc

I'd guess you erased the wrong key ;-)

BTW, I don't think this is a bug...

  8. Just wondering which OS version you downloaded.

Proposed versions are for the OS you run the GUI.

In my case I have a 64 bits Mint/Mate OS and I use Latest Version [Linux 64] => Flirc-v1.2.2-x64 directory when extracted

    Menu has: File, Controllers, Help

Controllers has: Minimalist, Full keyboard, Boxee, XBMC, Windows Media, Media keys.

It's run well right now with the CLI:

    $ sudo ./Flirc

  9. Almost perfect,

I created keyboard.xml with the code from the above link.

Play/Pause button is working well only when the file is already playing. I have to start playing the file with enter button (middle of arrows) first then the Play/Pause works fine.

I change the action from pause to playpause but still the same. This should be the good one.

See names and actions here and here

    Any idea?

  10.

So under the line, mapping "p" or play (out of the xbmc profile in gui) will not working for you as intended (toggle play/pause)!?

    Exactly.

But I was wondering; You said it's working for you, could you tell me in which window you are when you press > ?

    Please a thorough description.

  11. Bit afraid to ask, but did you try to map the play button only (without binding the additional pause button)?

In fact it's not possible to map the same remote button (same IR code) to 2 keys.

I always mapped Play (or space bar) only to 1 key but when I press first time it plays and the second time it should pause. It doesn't for me but do for you.

I understand now that Flirc send only p to XBMC every time the button is pressed and XBMC interpret it depending of what he is doing. If it plays it will pause and if it is on pause it will play.

When I map space bar it never Play/Pause but always change display file list/play list.

IMO, this is not a Flirc issue but a XBMC interpretation.

The differences between our configs are: I didn't use Noobs to install, I run Linux on my computer and the Flirc version.

    $ sudo ./flirc_util version

    Flirc Version v1.2.2 [v1.2.2]

       2.3 01-25-2014 [0x3DB4D4F3]

I'll give up for that now as I don't know how to fix it.

Side question: Did you try to map the \ key (Toggle windowed mode)?

I added a bug in the section
