    On the top right of the remote there is a keyboard button labelled 'KB' which gave me hope but I will be ordering Flirc anyway since it's such a great device.

    Try this one http://downloads.flirc.tv/beta/packages/Flirc-v1.3.7-rc.1.zip I had lots of problems with 1.3.6. 1.3.7 going fine for me so far.
