  2. I did not. But I haven't persevered. I decided to take another approach and hooked a Roku to the TV. But I ran into other problems with the Insignia soundbar in this setup and put the remote down. It is my workout TV and I am still picking up the multiple remotes and turning things on and off. I have had the flirc remote since they did the kickstarter but it is just collecting dust at this point. I had originally bought it as a potential replacement for my three main TV setups that run on Harmony. There is the ever present threat that Harmony is going to shut down their support since they pulled from this business year ago. But so far so good. I thought playing around on this simple setup would be a great way to see how this works. I appear to have answered that question so far - not very well. I am also a little surprised that tech support did not weigh in (assuming they are monitoring this forum) on this message which is now 6 months old. Are you in the same boat? I am happy to dust it off and try again.
  3. I installed firmware v4.12.26 back on the 2nd of April aand haven't had any battery issues since, so it is looking promising.
  4. Any 2024 Updates on the app or firmware?
  5. Thanks for letting me know it worked, but let me know the firmware version so that I can try to reproduce and get to the bottom of it. Again, thanks for letting me know.
  6. You are on the latest now? What is the firmware version now?
  7. have you figured this out?

  9. With all the activity and the new firmware, I decided to give it an update and leave batteries in it. This may be just anecdotally, but it's been fine for the last week as I've pressed the volume button every night and it responded. Until last night, when I pressed the volume button, then pressed the "A" button to remind myself what device it is on. This morning, it is failing to respond... so I tried to follow the instructions under, However, this fails at the 2nd step - connecting the USB cable gives a message from Windows "USB device not recognised"... I had to remove the batteries to get it to respond to USB.... I tested the batteries, and they still measured Okay - put the same batteries in, and it came back to life. Current firmware is 4.12.26-0-gf661a78 - I've attached an export of my remote configuration and the log I got from it once it came back responding to the app. "proc" returned {"USB":243090} "butt" returned {"Vol Up":{"Released":280149}} (I guess it lost the error logs as I had to remove the batteries??) Is there any trick to get it to reset to respond to USB if it's showing Device not recognised?? flirc-remote-control20240417.log Lounge Remote.skip
  10. it didn't work. I switch from "power on" to "power toggle" , for the Pioneer vsx-1021 receiver, and it worked. Thanks for your support.
  11. Temporary work around, will become a lot more elegant and invisible later. We're going to fix it, I'm done with microsoft's bullshit. It's their fault. Continue discussion there. https://forum.flirc.tv/index.php?/topic/15735-just-got-the-skip-1s-can’t-use-it/&do=findComment&comment=35464
  12. Smart activity switching is coming. Unfortunately, learning took a long time, and we are about done and ready to push. We hit a roadblock (unrelated) with a huge effort we were working on over the past 5 weeks, we'll be back on this soon.
  13. Long overdue, but I have a temporary solution there that will become more elegant and invisible overtime. Continue the discussion over there.
  14. Okay, firmware is most likely the issue. Remove the batteries. Press the center key and the back key at the same time while plugging in the USB. You should see the lights blink red if you press any button, if not, didn't work. Launch the app, it will upgrade the firmware. If not, let me know.

  17. Nah, not the batteries then. Can you save your configuration file and post it here. Can you also tell me what firmware version you have on your remote?
  18. Lights turn on after disconnected. Maybe with a little bit lower brightness. I have tried with two different pairs of new batteries.
  19. This is a new one. Do the lights turn on when disconnected from the computer? Like in the profile buttons and the color ring?
  20. When I am programming Skip, I test actions (specifically power on a Pioneer vsx1021 receiver), and works great, but when I disconnect Skip from my Mac, Skip couldn't turn on or off the pioneer receiver. I tried with new batteries, and same results.
  21. I've already tried and it doesn't work. I also used an Apple TV and Siri Remote to learn the Loewe remote control codes. Siri Remote works fine. I then tried to learn the codes from Siri Remote....same result....it doesn't work.
  22. No, something went wrong. You were pressing the button, and it looked fine, and then all of a sudden the length of numbers reported increased. If I'm to believe the first press, than I see nothing wrong with the code. Can you try to re-learn again? Once done, save and post your configuration file.
  23. I have a Skip 1 Remote and recently purchased a Flirc USB so I could control my Chromecast/Google TV (bypassing the BT remote the Chromecast comes with is my goal, I want to control Chromecast with my Skip 1). I've heard that a few people have been able to do this with success. My confusion lies in the steps it takes to program the Skip 1 to communicate with the Flirc USB. Setting up the Skip 1 to control my other devices (TV, Yamaha AV/Receiver, Xbox) has been a breeze, but I can't seem to wrap my head around what it takes to execute this for Chromecast. I bought this hub and currently have the Chromecast passing through it and it is also ready to receive the Flirc dongle: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CF224WX9?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Just not sure what to do after this, what to program the Flirc USB with to receive the appropriate key commands for Chromecast. Obviously the presets don't include CC. Any assistance from others who have figured this out would be appreciated, thank you! I'm sure it's a simple solution, I just can't seem to wrap my head around it.
  24. Why you say "second button" ? I just press and hold volume up This is the remote pic :
  25. First button looks fine. Second button, not sure what the hell is going on with that one. Can you share a pic of the remote, which buttons were which?
