Hi, thanks for the Shield profile, I switched from a Roku to a Shield (no IR), and was pulling my hair out trying to get a MCE IR USB receiver working with a MCE profile in my URC MX-890 remotes.
I used a Panasonic TC-P65VT50 as profile in Complete Control, and I programmed the shield profile and the media keys profile in Flirc.
The time between presses was so slow, I changed the "Minimum Repeat When Pressed" to 1 in CC, reprogrammed, more bearable. Still much slower than the native remote, but the same situation with Roku where the native remote is fast, IR not so much.

The inter key delay settings in the Flirc advanced UI is greyed out, don't know if there is another way to get keys to be more responsive?
When I program the home button, it launches my default browser on my Win10 PC, looks like the programming key is passed to the PC?

I was an early adopter of the first generation units, but gave up after I found them to be prone to interference and key-press loops, basically drove my wife crazy, who in turn drove me crazy. The new unit seems to work great so far.

Anyway, just wanted to say thank you.

Again really appreciate your help, I think the same, that it has mostly do to the OS.
However, I use some work around by using the built-in program automator in macOS.
    Steps as following
    1. Open Automator in the Application/Utility
    2. Select Service at the template menu(open up the app will prompt)
    3. On the side menu, select Utilities -> Run Shell Script
    4. type in "pmset sleepnow" no quotes. set Service receives as no input and in any application.
    5. save and give it a name.
    6. go to service app and keyboard find it under shortcut tab and under service, should be able to find the name in the last step, assign it a shortcut
    7. Record assigned shortcut by Flirc, I use command+shift+option+S.  It works perfectly, upon press, it sleeps right away.

@Cayprol in my opinion it's more an issue with OS than with Flirc itself. Flirc just sends a key press according to a HID standard. It's up to the system to interpret it and act on it. Maybe there's some setting in the Mac OS itself you need to change.
I don't know Mac OS. Maybe @jason will know something, but he's currently heavily preoccupied with his family matters (mostly by new baby).

That doesn't sound fun at all. I'm glad for the response though! In the meantime I've got an inelegant workaround to tide me over. Good luck with all your things man and I hope all of you guys get better soon :P

Hey sorry for the long reply, just came back from a trip
    I did more testing,
I don't have a dvd drive on hand that I can test with recording eject button.  Will try once I have access to it.
    But for
flirc_util record_api 50 102It works just like using the GUI to set a sleep.
If I clear the flirc mapping and record a button with sleep, the first time I press the button will put the machine to sleep like what it is intended.
But after waking it up, by pressing it once no longer works, need to keep pressing it for a few seconds and the prompt window like scenario 3 I mentioned in post 1 will jump out.
I can record enter(return) and tab(shift tab) to navigate the prompt for now, however it isn't very elegant way in my opinion.
I will keep trying other workarounds and report back.  thank you for the help.

Guys hang tight. I believe we have a solution, which is to port over what I did in flirc V1. I need some time. Holy shit has life been rough:
New babydaughter started pre-school and we're all sick, wife, daughter, and 3 week old baby are all on antibioticsI entered into a contract with DHL to handle domestic and international shipping. Holy shit what a bunch of fuck ups. I'm on the phone all day with angry customers because they over sold their product and all shipments take 5x as long.Suppose to move business into a small office so someone else can ship, asshole realtor decided to extort everyone for a bunch of money they day we were supposed to sign a lease. (I didn't)Hopefully lease on another building should go through soon, and life can be somewhat back to normal next week. I apologize for the delay. This is first on my list when I can return.
I'll post some firmware as soon as I can.

Unfortunately I'm also experiencing this same issue, which is making it impossible for me to wake my PC from sleep. The frustrating thing is that this worked for me initially, and I was able to wake my PC every time. After messing with some settings on my Harmony for an hour or so it just suddenly stopped functioning correctly, and when I force my PC to wake up with my keyboard I can see that FLIRC is taking a few seconds to register as "Connected" in the app, during which time no button-presses from my remote are registered on the computer. Are we getting any closer to a solution? It's literally just this one thing keeping me from loving this device :/

edit: I should add that I pretty much tried everything I could think of. Uninstalled everything, deleted files, deleted my Harmony profile, re-installed, turned on "Allow this device to wake my PC" even though I didn't need it initially, tried different USB ports, assigned a "Wake" button even though I didn't need it initially either, etc. Oh, and I'm on Windows 10, by the way.

Hey I created an account just to respond here.  Has Amazon gotten back to you on the long press problem?
I love FLIRC. I use my Harmony 650 with FLIRC and Amazon Fire TV and everything works great EXCEPT the long press for Home or Menu buttons, which makes the functionality for the FireTV and Playstation Vue a little less than ideal.
    Thanks!

Have you connected case's power button through the Flirc-SE? It should be: power btn <-> Flirc SE <-> Motherboard.

I figured out what I was doing wrong and I have recorded the key to power on/off, however it doesn't seem to be working. The flirc has accepted the config in the cmd prompt, but it won't power on or off?

I'm having difficulty in command prompt. I've opened it and trying to run "C:\program files (x86)\flirc\flirc_util.exe record power" and receive error "is not recognized as internal or external command, operable program or batch file"

Please. Someone reply. Need to configure Flirc SE but Flirc_util doesn't load.
I've tried so many times to contact Flirc support. I've had no luck. It's as if this is a dead / abandoned project. No replies to emails, seemingly, no replies on forums. If someone, anyone, can help I'd really appreciate it.
I managed to get my Flirc SE working after first having a unit that shipped with a damaged USB connector.
I can run the regular Flirc program and assign keys, but the Flirc_util command utility will not open, so I'm not able to assign a power on/off command. Can anyone help? When I try to run flirc_util.exe a black box opens for a fraction of a second, then immediately closes.
How can I get this working? I've exhausted all options and it's really frustrating when I can't get in touch with support.

    Programming cable box
    Hi all,
New to Flirc.  I understand how to program flirc with kodi and all of the other per-programmed devices found in Flirc's GUI.  However,  this is my situation.  I recently switched cable providers from Verizon TO Charter cable.  I love using my Verizon remote (because Im stuck in my ways :)   ) and would hate to switch over to the new Charter remote given to me when they did the install. The thing is, my verizon remote is able to control 4 devices ( DVD, AUX, TV, and STB)  My DVD button is already programmed for KODI, AUX is already programed for my sound bar, and the TV button already controls power to the TV.  Since I have a new cable box, this is the last device I have to get programed.  Can flirc  program my Verizon remote to work with my Charter box? if so, how?

attached is my verizon remote that I would like to continue to use.

    thanks all

  19. yawor added a post in a topic Please help - Flirc + Harmony + Intel NUC (Linux Mint) + Kodi

If the hardware itself supports waking by USB devices then it should work out of the box. The feature is also software controlled so OS also needs to properly configure the motherboard when going into suspend to allow waking from USB (this usually happens by default unless there's some incompatibility between operating system and the motherboard hardware).
You can test if the wake up function does work at all by connecting an USB keyboard and going to suspend mode. You should be able to wake your PC by pressing a key on the keyboard. If this doesn't work for you then Flirc also won't be able to do that. There may be an option in the BIOS/UEFI you need to enable.
If you are able to wake your PC using USB keyboard then it also should work with Flirc.
The old Flirc (the clear plastic one) may need some configuration. Open Flirc GUI and go to File menu and Advanced. Make sure that the Sleep Detection is checked. When it's checked then there are two modes of operation. By default Flirc will wake the PC upon pressing any remote key known to it (like I've mentioned in my previous post - this means any key that is recorded and recognised by Flirc). You can change that by going to Full Keyboard controller in Flirc GUI and recording the WAKE key. When the WAKE key is recorded, only that key will wake the PC.
At this moment, the new Flirc (the metal one) has wake function enabled by default and supports only waking up by any known key. The WAKE key feature is going to be implemented but I can't tell you any time frame when will that happen.

I mean a guide to bring these two processes together. Which steps are needed to configure mint to wake it up with flirc and what has to be done with the flirc so it fits the mint settings. I tried a lot and didn't manage to make it work. Wake it up with a specific key rather than with a random key would be the desired result. Best regards

Do you mean a guide on how to enable suspend/sleep in your OS? Or a guide on how to enable wake up using Flirc?
For new Flirc (the metal one) the wake is enabled by default and it should wake on any known remote key press (any key you've recorded in Flirc GUI).

    Lost keys/buttons after sleeping mode
    Hello,
I need your help to solve my problem.
I have a Flirc (V1) with Shield Tv (2015), kodi (krypton) and Harmony Ultimate.
I have loaded "Kodi Harmony Profil" and customize some buttons thanks to Harmony and Flirc softwares.
Everything works fine during the first use!
But If a turn off / trun on with Harmony Ultimate, I lost many keys / buttons. I only can navigate, press Ok, stop/start movies.
For exemple, tooglz watched, menu or info are not working.
To solve the problem I have to restart Kodi.
    Anyone have a solution?
    Thanks for your help.

Suspend or sleep mode would be fine too. I just haven't found a guide (which actually works!)  to set it up. If anyone knows a good guide, plz feel free to link it here!
    Thanks!

You can keep your HTPC in a suspend mode. Either suspend to RAM (sleep) or suspend to disk. Any Flirc is able to wake your PC from suspend modes. It's up to you to set your OS to properly use suspend modes.
USB by default doesn't support turning the PC on from full shutdown (there are some exceptions but this depends on the manufacturer, I don't know if NUC supports this). Flirc-SE has additional connections (besides the USB) to the motherboard's power switch connector and is able to emulate pressing on the physical power button. That's why it is able to do this on any motherboard.

  25. hgz added a post in a topic Keys stuck

I have this same issue and have had it for a while. I take the battery out of the remote to stop it from continually pushing a key, reinsert the battery and try again. As stated in the original post, the remote doesn't continually push a key on the PC until I push any one button on the remote. Sometimes removing and reinserting the battery stops the behaviour after doing that once, but other times it won't stop until the next day. The keys stay pressed on the remote even when the Flirc dongle is not plugged in. Stupid question, but does that rule out the Flirc?  I tried swapping out batteries in the remote and the same issue still happened at the time.
Have updated the firmware a couple times over the past year and a bit without realising it could possible be a known issue until recently. Have got the latest firmware v3.8.0.
